I am Cara Pressley, also known as The Career Cheerleader (your favorite Career Cheerleader might I add)! I am a Digital Business Innovator, Educator, International Speaker, Event Host, local Correspondent, and an overall multifaceted creative with over 20 years of analytical Government experience behind me. I retired in June 2021, but I previously served in positions such as as an executive instructor, training analyst, project manager, and public affairs specialist. When I meet new people along the way, on this life journey, my intention is to empower , and more importantly (at the end of the day) I want to make REAL connections!

As a social influencer and entertainer I have volunteered in my local community as a Communications Director and Correspondent for Excel to Excellence (E2E), a Youth Football League founded by Super Bowl Champion and RVA native Michael Robinson. I have also collaborated with the popular Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, hosted by Jada Pinkett-Smith and her family. This opportunity came about because I cultivated a diversified Facebook group by the name of Red Table Talk RVA, and we became the fastest growing group on Facebook in support of the show (we now have over 110k followers!)
Over the last five years, I worked with the brand to host local events, launch merchandise, assist with the rollout of several key initiatives, while also serving as a key resource for their unique ongoing audience engagement. I was even invited to California to celebrate their 2021 Emmy Award Win! (Look at God! Won’t he do it!) AND we launched The official Fan-Rewatch Podcast with Red Table Talk and iHeartMedia in July 2022! New episodes initially aired every Thursday, then transitioned to Mondays and our Season One Finale aired Monday January 23, 2023! I’ll blog about Season One eventually but boy did I have a TIME working on that project! Although the show is no longer with Facebook I’m still apart of the team and excited to see what’s next!

Working with social media overall has allowed me to create impactful, relatable content that resonates with the soul, and I’m able to incorporate principles from my custom courses into my content. Incorporating my personal perspectives into content creates discussions in the comments, and in return, that discussion translates into an overflow of public/private shares with friends and family.

As I move forward on my own journey, I want others to share their stories too! I began “The Successful Podcast” in 2021 to highlight myself and other successful people doing successful things along the way. (Subscribe to “The Successful Podcast”, your new favorite bite sized podcast, delivering content in 15 minutes or less!) Why exactly do I want to share stories from everyday people doing amazing things? Mainly, because my goal is to encourage everyone to continually create the life they want (personally and professionally) while staying successful at all times. We all know, you will practice more than you play. So knowing that many people will reach success, you have to ask can they retain that success? I want people to retain their success & #StaySuccessful by reminding them of three things:
#1 Being patient with yourself is the key, and
#2 Being successful looks different everyday , and
#3 We all deserve to PIVOT when we are ready in order to Create the Life we WANT!
